Citrus

Citrus species include sweet and bitter oranges, mandarins, lemons, limes, grapefruits, and are one of the most produced fruits. Citrus has a high demand for calcium, with deficiencies leading to leaf and fruit loss due to creasing or cracking of the fruit peel, directly impacting marketable yield.

By applying biostimulant products that optimise the mobility and distribution of calcium, such as Plant Impact's Amētros, Fortalis and InCa, marketable yield can be increased. These products optimise the availability and distribution of calcium in the plant, increasing fruit calcium concentration, reducing calcium disorders such as creasing.

Benefits of Amētros, Fortalis and InCa on citrus
  • Increases marketable yield
  • Improves crop quality
  • Reduces creasing and other calcium disorders
  • Extends fruit storage and shelf life
  • Compatible with other agrochemical foliar sprays
  • Application flexibility due to reduced risk of scorch

Increased marketable yield

InCa, applied 6-8 times at two to three week intervals, increased citrus marketable yield in a Thai field trial. Various InCa rates were compared to two competitor brands and a control. The control group had 70% marketable fruits, compared to 96% in the InCa treated group (3 L/ha).
